In Case You Missed It: APA’s 2025 Year in Review

APA in the News

Here are a few highlights from APA’s 2025 End‑of‑Year Report.

A Year of Connection and Engagement

Throughout 2025, APA continued to bring prosecutors together—both in person and virtually—through conferences, summits, webinars, and technical assistance. The organization hosted a robust slate of national convenings and virtual trainings, connecting prosecutors, allied professionals, and justice partners across the country. APA’s digital reach also grew steadily, with increased engagement across its website, newsletters, and social platforms.

Flagship events included the National Domestic Violence Prosecution Conference, the National Prosecutorial Data Summit, the Machine Gun Conversion Device Summit, and APA’s inaugural AI Hackathon for the Public Sector, co‑hosted with Microsoft. Each convening emphasized practical application, peer learning, and real‑world challenges facing prosecutorial offices today.

Advancing Innovation in Prosecution

In 2025, APA deepened its focus on data, analytics, and responsible technology use. Through hands‑on workshops, guided labs, and expert panels, prosecutors explored tools and frameworks designed to support ethical decision‑making, improve office efficiency, and strengthen casework. These efforts positioned APA to expand its Data & AI programming in 2026, reinforcing its role as a leader in applied, prosecutor‑driven innovation.

Expanding Access Through Webinars and Virtual Training

APA’s webinar programming continued to grow in 2025, offering timely and accessible education on complex and emerging issues. Sessions covered a wide range of topics—from homicide and animal cruelty prosecutions to victim rights, ethics, and reproductive health‑related legal issues. Many programs were CLE‑eligible and remain available on demand, ensuring offices can access high‑quality training without the time or cost associated with travel.

Strengthening Membership and Resources

A major milestone in 2025 was APA’s transition to a modernized membership platform, enhancing how members engage with the organization and its resources. The refreshed Member InfoHub now serves as a centralized destination for webinar recordings, toolkits, fact sheets, and practical guides.

APA also launched a new Subject Matter Expert (SME) Database, allowing members to connect directly with experts across prosecutorial disciplines and further strengthening collaboration within the field.

Looking Ahead

Building on the momentum of 2025, APA enters 2026 focused on expanding education and technical assistance, fostering collaboration across jurisdictions, and supporting prosecutors as they navigate emerging challenges. With new conferences, summits, webinars, and initiatives on the horizon, APA remains committed to serving as a trusted national resource for prosecutors and prosecution teams.
