WA State Office of the Attorney General (Washington)

Salaried Full Time

Assistant Attorney General – Medicaid Fraud & Abuse Division

Position Summary

The Washington State Attorney General's Office has an opening for an Assistant Attorney General in the Medicaid Fraud & Abuse Division (MFA). This position affirmatively litigates against companies, organizations, and individuals who defraud the State Medicaid fund in violation of the Washington State False Claims Act (Chapter 74.66 RCW).

MFA investigates and prosecutes — both civilly and criminally — Medicaid fraud, as well as abuse and neglect of vulnerable adults in residential facilities. All MFA investigations are typically months to years-long, highly complex white-collar fraud and abuse matters. AAGs manage a robust caseload, directing investigations as part of a team of analysts, special agents, nurses, and paralegals, and resolving cases through litigation or negotiation.

This position offers the opportunity to collaborate on national cases with the National Association of Medicaid Fraud Control Units (NAMFCU) and routinely partners with U.S. Attorney's Offices, the HHS Office of Inspector General, the FBI, U.S. Customs, local law enforcement, and state administrative agencies. MFA civil attorneys litigate in state courts throughout Washington and in federal courts nationwide.
