| Job Description | About the Position We are looking for a strategic, well-connected Prosecutor Partnerships Manager with experience in the criminal justice field, specifically working with prosecutors, to support our efforts to scale Prosecutor-Initiated Resentencing in the states where it is law – CA, MN, IL, OR, WA, and UT. Under the direction of the Director of Strategic Partnerships, and in collaboration with the Chief Strategy Officer, this role is focused on identifying and developing partnerships with prosecutors’ offices that are interested in using PIR to review cases under their jurisdiction. The work will also include cultivating an ecosystem of support among essential stakeholders, including corrections, defense attorneys, judges, and reentry organizations. Please note that this is a full-time position that we anticipate will last no more than one year. Candidates must have experience in the criminal justice field in Minnesota, Illinois, or Utah, experience working with prosecutors is preferred. This position will be focused on a territory that will include Minnesota, Illinois, and Utah, with the potential for other states as well. For this reason, candidates who have worked in or still work in these states will be prioritized. The ideal candidate is a systems thinker with deep relationships in the criminal justice landscape—ideally a former prosecutor or someone who has worked closely with prosecutors in their career and maintains relationships with prosecutor offices. We are looking for someone who can help navigate local relationships and establish FTP as the premier technical assistance provider for resentencing in their assigned territory. | Minimum Qualifications | 5-7+ years of experience in the criminal justice system (e.g., former prosecutor, defense attorney, or policy expert) with a strong existing network of relationships with local criminal justice stakeholders, with an emphasis on prosecutorial experience and networks. Candidates with experience working in the criminal justice field in Minnesota, Illinois, or Utah required. Ability to think creatively and outside the box when persuading prosecutors and other system stakeholders to invest in second look pathways. Ability to pass criminal background check requirements for viewing sensitive criminal justice data. Exceptional interpersonal skills with the ability to speak to prosecutors and balance their priorities with stakeholder coalition building. Demonstrated project management skills and the ability to work independently in a remote/consultant capacity. A driving passion for FTP’s mission to reduce excessive sentences and restore human dignity to those impacted by the justice system. |
| Benefits | Competitive salary commensurate with experience; starting range $95,000-$125,000 FTE depending on experience.
