Position Title: Social Media Intern
Organization: Association of Prosecuting Attorneys (APA)
Location: Remote or Hybrid
Time Commitment: 10–15 hours/week
Duration: September–December 2025
Compensation: Unpaid; academic credit available

Position Description:
APA is seeking a creative and detail-oriented undergraduate intern to assist with social media strategy and content creation. This internship offers a unique opportunity to gain real-world experience in digital communications, nonprofit advocacy, and criminal justice outreach—all while contributing to a mission-driven organization.

Interns will:

  • Collaborate with APA staff on campaigns that reach national audiences  
  • Receive mentorship in nonprofit communications and strategic messaging  
  • Build a professional portfolio of social media content and analytics  
  • Gain exposure to justice-sector initiatives and advocacy efforts  
  • Develop skills in branding, audience engagement, and digital storytelling

This is an ideal opportunity for students interested in communications, public service, or criminal justice reform who want to make a meaningful impact while building a strong foundation for future careers in media, law, or nonprofit leadership.

Responsibilities:

  • Draft and schedule posts across APA’s platforms (Facebook, Twitter/X, Instagram)  
  • Promote webinars, newsletters, and publications  
  • Monitor analytics and engagement metrics  
  • Assist with SEO and website updates  
  • Collaborate with staff on campaign strategy and visual content

Qualifications:

  • Current undergraduate or graduate-level student
  • Experience with social media platforms and tools  
  • Strong writing and visual communication skills  
  • Interest in criminal justice and nonprofit advocacy  
  • Familiarity with Canva, Hootsuite, or similar tools a plus
