Program Summary:
Supports the development and expansion of community-based, victim-initiated restorative practices to address domestic violence, dating violence, sexual assault, or stalking. These practices must be unaffiliated with civil or criminal legal systems and emphasize healing, accountability, and safety. Key components include:
• A required 12-month planning period with a full-time Site Coordinator
• Implementation of restorative practices aligned with statutory definitions
• Training, technical assistance, and participation in OVW-led meetings
• Prioritization of culturally specific, Tribal, rural, and underserved populations
Eligibility:
Units of local government, Tribal governments, Tribal organizations, victim service providers, institutions of higher education, and nonprofit organizations with documented experience in restorative practices and victim services.
