Program Summary:
Supports efforts to reduce firearm‑related violent crime through the establishment or expansion of Crime Gun Intelligence Centers (CGICs). The initiative emphasizes coordinated, intelligence‑driven approaches to identifying, tracking, and prosecuting individuals involved in gun crime, in partnership with the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF). Funding is available under two categories:
• Expansion of an existing CGIC to enhance operational effectiveness and use of ballistic and firearms intelligence
• Implementation of a new CGIC to establish systems for collecting, analyzing, and acting on ballistic evidence and crime gun intelligence

Local law enforcement agencies. Eligibility requirements vary by funding category as defined in the NOFO.
