Program Summary:
Supports publicly funded law enforcement and correctional agencies in establishing or expanding body-worn camera (BWC) programs. Properly implemented BWC programs can:
• Strengthen the evidentiary foundation for criminal prosecutions
• Provide reliable documentation of officer-citizen encounters
• Deter assaults on officers
Eligibility:
County governments, city or township governments, state governments, special district governments, federally recognized Native American tribal governments, independent school districts, public and state institutions of higher education, and other publicly funded law enforcement and correctional agencies.
