Description
What You Do Matters
What You Do Matters is a full-day, highly interactive program developed with the historians of the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum. Using images, film, and artifacts selected by museum historians, it traces the slippery slope by which police and prosecutors moved from protectors of the public to instruments of the Nazi state between 1933 and 1942 — then turns that history on the profession today.
Participants call it a course like no other. For one day in Washington, DC, a cohort of prosecutors will step back from the caseload to confront the weight of everyday choices — and leave with a sharper sense of the oath they carry: what it means to serve justice, where discretion becomes power, and what is owed to the communities they represent.
