The Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) Privacy Rule provides federal privacy protections for an individual’s protected health information.  Understanding the key elements of the rule including what information is covered, who is regulated by HIPAA, recent regulatory changes and how state privacy statutes are applied is important for prosecutors to know and understand. 

Join us on Thursday, November 13th at 3:00 pm (ET) when Professor Stacey Tovino of the University of Oklahoma College of Law, a leading expert in health law, bioethics and medical humanities, will discuss a framework for understanding HIPAA.
